IBC and drum loading

The IBC loading arm or drum loader is designed to load or unload small compartments like IBC’s and drums. The loading arm has a long reach. It is suitable for applications where the manhole or the connection flange cannot be positioned accurately. The robust design and high quality of the swivel joints provides ease of operation of the loading arm.

The locking device arrests the loading arm in working position. This prevents the arm from slipping out of the manhole, a typical disadvantage of using a hose. As such the device contributes to spillage free loading and a clean working area. The locking device also enables the arm to operate in combination with a scale.

Typical application

The loading arm can be configured to suit multiple fills on pallets for small containers.

Engiflow can supply a batch meter system to work in combination with the arm. With this system the operator can exercise push-button control of the loading process without resorting to potentially dangerous eye-judgement.

It is convenient to integrate the batch meter into the pipe network and DCS control system. Another application is to use the batch meter to select products from a manifold supply. In this way the arm can load a number of products.
