How it works

A swivel joint can rotate 360˚ around 1 axis. A variant is the ball swivel joint. This swivel acts as a ball joint and has the possibility to slew around it's rotating axis. This feature makes the ball swivel joint very appropriate for use in combination with hoses.

Ideal for hose applications

Amongst others, the following two loads work on the fixed connection point of hoses:

• a rotating moment around the axis resulting in twisting

• a bending moment in axial direction resulting in buckling.

Both moments will cause extensive wear of the hose. The ball swivel joint eliminates both loads and consequently increases the life time of the hose.
