Floating suction

Floating suctions are used in storage tanks for petroleum, aviation products and specific chemicals. They ensure that only the pure uncontaminated liquid is drawn off.

The floating suction unit consists of a floating pipe construction with swivel joints. It moves up and down as the liquid level changes. The inlet is located just below the surface of the liquid where the product is free of water and sediments.

Floating skimmer and rain drain

Based on the floating suction design, Emco Wheaton also supplies skimmers for the skimming of contaminating product floating on a liquid surface. Rain drains to carry off rain water from storage tanks’ floating roofs are part of the scope of supply too.
