Folding stairs provide an easy and safe access from the loading platform to the top of rail or road tankers. With its proven design and 800 mm wide steps, this retractable type of folding stair is still the primary method for tanker top access world wide.

Movable folding stair

For a safe access it is in most cases necessary to position the man hole of the truck directly in front of the folding stair. In situations where this is not possible a movable folding stair is the ultimate solution. This movable system allows a flexible access to tankers parked anywhere along the loading platform.

The folding stair is mounted on a guiding rails, which secures the unit vertically and laterally to the platform. The high quality wheel bearings of the tracking device provide a smooth and low friction movement. The folding stair is made of galvanised carbon steel.

At set intervals self closing access gates are mounted. When the desired position is reached, the operator opens the gate and lowers the stairs.
